Namsangol Hanok Village is gearing up for spring by offering more programs for international tourists to enjoy a hands-on experience of Korea’s traditional culture.

In addition to Namsangol Hanok Village’s programs of trying on hanbok, writing in Korean, and playing traditional games, a special taekwondo program exclusively for international visitors was started on May 10. The class includes the basic forms of taekwondo, a martial art that represents Korea around the world, as well as learning breaking forms. The class is free of charge and is taught in English. Classes run on Wednesdays and Thursdays for one hour from 10:30.

Registration for class is accepted online (https://goo.gl/forms/25xWOzi3crRISL3v1) until 3 days before the class, with each class filling at 20 students. Participants wishing to purchase their own dobok (taekwondo uniform) for an additional fee of 30,000 won.

Visitors who are unable to sign-up for the classes can still enjoy an exciting taekwondo experience by watching the various taekwondo performances and demonstrations that take place Fridays through Sundays at Cheonugak Stage until October. The most popular show is Taekwondo Creative Culture Performance, an exciting mix of K-pop and taekwondo moves.

Other programs offered at Namsangol Hanok Village range from a traditional tea ceremony to a straw craft demonstration to making a folk craft, perfect as a souvenir gift. All international visitors are invited to explore and learn more about Korea’s traditional culture this spring at Namsangol Hanok Village
